Andrew Michael Ioannou, born and raised in Melbourne Australia, is an award-nominated composer and Guitar instrumentalist. Although having formally studied composition at LaTrobe University Andrew started composing and playing instruments at an early age. He soon developed a passion for music creation which has included writing music for film, festivals, theatre and songwriting.

With his own recording studio, Andrew can compose for any project using real and virtual instruments. Andrew’s music draws on many styles, as well as having a direct connection to composers like Mozart, Mark Knopfler, Hans Zimmer, Bacharach, James Horner and Lennon /McCartney, Pink Floyd etc. In addition, ethnic styles are one of Andrew’s specialties, his most recent offering for the Greek Cooking Show ‘Kali Orexi’ – www.kaliorexi.com.au Often exciting and always colorful, pulsing with earthy rhythms, Andrew’s music has a directness rarely heard in contemporary music, but also contains an emotional core of striking intimacy and sensitivity.

Andrew is also an acclaimed Guitarist in both Electric and Classical Genres. He has performed for over 35 years in a multitude of musical scenarios ranging from Rock, Blues, Pop, Country and Jazz groups to Solo Classical and Spanish Guitar concerts, festivals and private functions.

In addition, a qualified classroom music teacher previously teaching in several schools, Music Examiner for various examining bodies, Sound Engineer and Producer for various recording studios.
